How To Post Photos
Have you taken photos that you'd like to share on the Myakka website? You can upload them now! This is how:
- Register on the site, and activate your account by clicking the link in the confirmation email.
- Go to the "Post Your Photos" page.
- Click on the link that says "Manage Images". You'll see a "Select Files" box, where you can drag and drop photos, or click the "Browse" button. Photos must be smaller than 4 MB, so down-size them first, if necessary.
- Once you've selected the photos, click the "Start Upload" button.
- Uploaded files will appear in the list below the upload box. If you'd like to add your name or a description, click the "Edit" link next to your images.
Uploaded photos will be held for moderation. Once we verify that your image is relevant and appropriate, it will be approved and will be visible in the "Visitors Gallery". If your photo is an Editor's Choice, it may be moved into one of the site's subject-specific galleries.
Pets in the Park
Dogs are permitted on leash in most areas of the park. They are not permitted in buildings, on tours, in concession areas, in the Wilderness Preserve south of S.R. 72, or in primitive or youth camping areas. We also ask that they not be taken up the canopy walkway and and towers.
Do be aware that alligators exist in most wet areas of the park such as the river, lake, ditches, culverts, and wetlands. In the past, dogs that have been allowed to go to such areas to drink have been taken by alligators.

Fees
Park Entrance Fees
Park entrance fees are as follows:
- Vehicle (2-8 People):$6.00
- Vehicle (1 person): $4.00
- Extra passengers, passengers in vehicle with holder of Annual Individual Entrance Pass: $2.00
- Motorcycle: $4.00
- Pedestrians & bicyclists: $2.00
- Bus Tour Fee (30+ people): $60.00
- Bus Tour Fee (fewer than 30 people): $2.00 per person
Overnight Fees
Myakka River State Park offers a variety of options for visitors who wish to an organize an extended stay, from primitive back-country camping to modernized cabin rentals. Please click on the links below for additional information. Fees are as follows:
- Primitive Camping: $5 per person (over age 5) per night
- Family Camping: $26 per night, including water and electricity
- Organized Group Camping: $1 per night for youths (under 18), $5 per night for adults
- Cabin Rental (1-6 people): $70 per night
Florida residents who are 65 years of age or older or who hold a social security disability award certificate or a 100 percent disability award certificate from the Federal Government are permitted to receive a 50 percent discount on current base campsite fees. Proof of eligibility required.

- $40.00 per day, Lake and Clay Gully (holds 40 people)
- $80.00 per day, South (holds 111 people) and Log (holds 60 people).
Daily Concession Tours
Tram and Airboat tours are among the most popular attractions at Myakka River State Park. Information about each can be found on their respective pages on this site. We recommend that you purchase tickets early in the day, as tours frequently sell out during the park's busy season.
- $12.00 per adult, Airboat & Tram Tours.
- $6.00 per child, ages 6-12, Airboat & Tram Tours.
Daily Concession Rental Fees
A variety of rental equipment is available to visitors to help you enjoy all that Myakka River State Park has to offer. Rentals are provided at the Myakka Outpost. For more information, please see the Outpost page on this site.
- $20.00 Canoe & Kayak rental, first hour
- $5.00 Canoe & Kayak rental, each additional hour
- $15.00 bicycle rental, 1-2 hours
- $25.00 bicycle rental, 4 hours
- $40.00 bicycle rental, 5 hours to close
A deposit of $50.00 cash or a Visa, Master Card or Discover card is required.
Park Hours
The park is available for day-use every day, from 8 AM until sunset. Since the sun sets at a different time every day, please check with the park staff when entering the park for the exact time the park closes at the time of your visit.
Though the park is open until sunset, the Myakka Outpost has more limited hours:
- Summer Hours (June 1st - Dec. 15th) : Mon - Fri: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. , Sat & Sun: 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- Winter Hours (Dec. 16th - May 31st) : Mon - Fri: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. , Sat & Sun: 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
