Uploaded photos will be held for moderation. Once we verify that your image is relevant and appropriate, it will be approved and will be visible in the "Visitors Gallery". If your photo is an Editor's Choice, it may be moved into one of the site's subject-specific galleries.
Dogs are permitted on leash in most areas of the park. They are not permitted in buildings, on tours, in concession areas, in the Wilderness Preserve south of S.R. 72, or in primitive or youth camping areas. We also ask that they not be taken up the canopy walkway and and towers.
Do be aware that alligators exist in most wet areas of the park such as the river, lake, ditches, culverts, and wetlands. In the past, dogs that have been allowed to go to such areas to drink have been taken by alligators.

Myakka River State Park offers a variety of options for visitors who wish to an organize an extended stay, from primitive back-country camping to modernized cabin rentals. Please click on the links below for additional information. Fees are as follows:
Florida residents who are 65 years of age or older or who hold a social security disability award certificate or a 100 percent disability award certificate from the Federal Government are permitted to receive a 50 percent discount on current base campsite fees. Proof of eligibility required.

Tram and Airboat tours are among the most popular attractions at Myakka River State Park. Information about each can be found on their respective pages on this site. We recommend that you purchase tickets early in the day, as tours frequently sell out during the park's busy season.
A variety of rental equipment is available to visitors to help you enjoy all that Myakka River State Park has to offer. Rentals are provided at the Myakka Outpost. For more information, please see the Outpost page on this site.
A deposit of $50.00 cash or a Visa, Master Card or Discover card is required.
The park is available for day-use every day, from 8 AM until sunset. Since the sun sets at a different time every day, please check with the park staff when entering the park for the exact time the park closes at the time of your visit.
