The Friends of Myakka River is a non-profit group established to protect, preserve and support Myakka River State Park and the "Wild and Scenic Myakka River."
The "Friends" is also dedicated to environmental education, especially helping Floridians and Florida visitors appreciate the unique beauty and needs of one of Florida's most significant natural resources: The Myakka Island.
Through care and diligence our descendants will enjoy the land in its natural state, a piece of the REAL FLORIDA.
Friends of Myakka River is classified as a "not-a-private" foundation under section 509(a). All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
