Family Camping

BIG FLATS CAMPGROUND, the largest; is closest to the Upper Myakka Lake, boat ramp, concession store, and tours. Many sites are shaded by huge, old oaks and palms. All sites at Big Flats have water and electricity.

OLD PRAIRIE CAMPGROUND is located on the edge of a hammock of oaks and palms. It is near the cabins, Campfire Circle, Myakka River, picnic areas, and Visitor Center. All sites at Old Prairie have water and electricity. Campgrounds have restrooms with hot showers.

Cabin Rental

Myakka Cabin FloorplanThe five palm log cabins were built in the 1930's by the men of the Civilian Conservation Corps. They have been modernized for comfortable lodging. Cabins contain linens, light thermal blankets, kitchen utensils, coffee pot and microwave oven.

$70.00 per night for up to 6 people.

Maximum occupancy is 6 persons. Rental deposit required. Check in: 4 PM. Check out: 11 AM.

Primitive Camping

Myakka River State Park is known the world over as a haven for abundant wildlife and natural scenic beauty. One of the best ways to experience this large wilderness area is through the solitude of a remote campsite, reachable only by hiking or biking (map). Staying overnight in one of the primitive areas provides campers with one of the best ways to see wildlife in a natural setting.

Organized Group Camping

Group Campsite at Myakka State Park

Each of the three, shaded sites has water, picnic tables, grill, and fire circle. There is no electricity at the site. Only tents are permitted in the campground (no trailers or motorhomes).The restrooms have hot showers.

Adult supervision is required.

You can make reservations by calling (941) 361-6511. Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance for organized youth groups, and up to 30 days in advance for adult groups.

Fees are: Youth (up to 18 years of age) $1 per person, per night. Adult $5 per person, per night.
