| BIG FLATS CAMPGROUND, the largest; is closest to the Upper Myakka Lake, boat ramp, concession store, and tours. Many sites are shaded by huge, old oaks and palms. All sites at Big Flats have water and electricity. OLD PRAIRIE is located on the edge of a hammock of oaks and palms. It is near the cabins, Campfire Circle, Myakka River, picnic areas, and Visitor Center. All sites at Old Prairie have water and electricity. Campgrounds have restrooms with hot showers. Campground hosts are usually on duty November through April. Rangers conduct weekly programs during the winter and spring. Both campgrounds can be reached by a paved road. Campsites accommodate tents, trailers, or motorized campers up to 35' long. Camping fees are $ 22 per night including water and electric. |
